Is Obama Using Anti-Gun Spambots? | Power Line: "Stockman said that in response to Obama’s call for people to tweet their congressman in support of gun control legislation, he received just 16 tweets. But he said all of these messages were identical, and that a closer look at them revealed that only six were from real people.
“The other 10 are fake, computer-generated spambots,” his office said in a press release. As evidence, he said these 10 tweets use default graphics and names, and have not engaged in any interaction with other people. Two of the tweets were sent at nearly the same time, and both follow just one person: Brad Schenck, Obama’s former digital strategist."

My daughter was attacked on the campus of UCCS. Her dorm room should have been considered a “safe zone” until someone forced their way into her room. She didn’t have a gun, but did have 3 years of Tae Kwon Do, and the would-be rapist elected that the fight wasn’t worth it and left. But not before he ripped her shirt/bra and exposed her breast. Campus police didn’t do anything either since he actually didn’t rape her, and it would be his word against hers. Within one semester, she left school. She wasn’t raped, but the attack did affect her. She never did finish school. Rep. Joe Salazar, you obviously don’t have teen/adult daughters and are totally clueless."

Gotta luv those low information voters. They're the stuff the cycles of history -- and recurring collectivist power grabs -- are made of.
And yes, the bankers should be in jail too since they're the one's who keep funding this recurring garbage. The bankers are only too happy to be part of history's ongoing "high and the low against the middle" nightmare.
I recently finished re-reading "Brave New World" for the second time as well as "1984" for the Nth and "Atlas Shrugged" from the speech to the end for the umpteenth time (I've "only" read that one four times cover to cover).
One of the core unappreciated themes in all of them -- and one our "betters" have skillfully worked to bury -- is that of the "high and low against the aspiring middle". The "high" brainwash the "low" ("proles" in 1984 or Deltas/Epsilons in BNW) to the point where rational argument about reality from individual thinkers and innovators (who most often rise from the ranks of the "low" of course) bounces off of the "low" like pebbles off of armor.
My favorite quote on this from BNW is when "world controller" Mustapha Mond scofs at John "Mr." Savage: "Expecting Deltas to know what Liberty is! And now expecting them to understand Othello! My good boy!".
And I'll pass over the opportunities for comparative analysis of Othello and our current God King for now...

No company wants to admit that they are considering eliminating health insurance as an option, or be the first one to drop their health insurance plan, but once a competitor does so, the preference cascade will begin. The clear sentiment is “We will not be the first one to drop our health insurance plan, but we would be a close second.”
The coming preference cascade for employer group health plans is what the Democrats fear the most, because Obamacare was sold to the masses as “if you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it.”
The people who really know the law, and who have been following the avalanche of regulations, have already figured this out. It will take a while for this specialized knowledge to seep downward, because right now only $800+ an hour ERISA attorneys and the most sophisticated HR people understand how Obamacare really works."

I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery (Quotation) « Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello: "This is actually a translation of a Latin phrase that Thomas Jefferson used: Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem. It has also been translated as, "I prefer the tumult of liberty to the quiet of servitude."There's those sheep again. They surround you don't they?
Here is the sentence in context:
"Societies exist under three forms sufficiently distinguishable. 1. Without government, as among our Indians. 2. Under governments wherein the will of every one has a just influence, as is the case in England in a slight degree, and in our states in a great one. 3. Under governments of force: as is the case in all other monarchies and in most of the other republics. To have an idea of the curse of existence under these last, they must be seen. It is a government of wolves over sheep. It is a problem, not clear in my mind, that the 1st. condition is not the best. But I believe it to be inconsistent with any great degree of population. The second state has a great deal of good in it. The mass of mankind under that enjoys a precious degree of liberty and happiness. It has it's evils too: the principal of which is the turbulence to which it is subject. But weigh this against the oppressions of monarchy, and it becomes nothing. Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem. Even this evil is productive of good. It prevents the degeneracy of government, and nourishes a general attention to the public affairs. I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical." - Jefferson to James Madison, January 30, 1787"

Okay, enough joking around. I know, his personal grooming choices are his business. He has since taken a shower and gotten a haircut.
But I think the question of whether or not he is actually a Muslim or just an Islamophile is just as unimportant as his hippy days learning to love Islam. And by the same token, I think that it is unimportant if Obama is or isn't a Muslim. I don't care whom they pray to.
The question is whether their world view, and their policies would be any different if they were Muslims. And I think the answer to that is no. And since it is their policies, not their beliefs that matter to the world, they should be judged for that. "

Panetta: Obama Absent Night of Benghazi | The Weekly Standard: ""While Americans were under assault in Benghazi, the president found time for a non-urgent, politically useful, hour-long call to Prime Minister Netanyahu. And his senior national security staff had to find time to arrange the call, brief the president for the call, monitor it, and provide an immediate read-out to the media. I suspect Prime Minister Netanyahu, of all people, would have understood the need to postpone or shorten the phone call if he were told that Americans were under attack as the president chatted. Speed Read for Credit SupernovaWell there then, nothing to worry about up here in Obabwe is there?
1) Why is our credit market running out of heat or fuel?
a) As it expands at a rate of trillions per year, real growth in the economy has failed to respond. More credit goes to pay interest than future investment.2) What options should an investor consider?
b) Zero-based interest rates, which are the result of QE and credit creation, have negative as well as positive effects. Historic business models may be negatively affected and investment spending may be dampened.
c) Look to the Japanese historical example.
a) Seek inflation protection in credit market assets/ shorten durations.William H. Gross
b) Increase real assets/commodities/stable cash flow equities at the margin.
c) Accept lower future returns in portfolio planning.

Conventional Wisdom, Unconventional Oil | Watts Up With That?: "The Liquid Solvent Extraction (LSE) process has been capable of producing synthetic crude oil (i.e. syncrude) from coal at competitive cost (n.b. cost and not price) with crude oil since 1994.RTWC (read the whole comment). This comment is a great example of addressing the weakest part of Willis' post (about the politicization of oil industry terminology) which is the failure to explicitly take on the energy returned on energy invested (EROEI) argument for "peak oil".
We proved the technical and economic abilities of the LSE process with a demonstration plant at Point Of Ayr in North Wales."
This recalls the "genius central planners" from over a hundred years ago who predicted "peak horse sh*t" in our largest cities if things went on the way they were. Needless to say they were too dimwitted to predict the rise of the auto and Henry Ford (among others). No doubt if they had the power and level of vision back then that our current God King has today we would today instead be riding around on horses with corks up their *sses. \sarc
The simple fact is that the deep "R" part of technology R&D cannot be planned -- and the "D" part can sometimes be nearly as bad to predict depending on the quality of management which all to often leads to an overly politicized game of "schedule chicken". And that's all among people who are reasonably technical.
Add actual bozo politicians to the mix like our current God King who publicly admits that he struggles with the 7th grade math competence level where orders of magnitude are taught and you wonder why we have the following household budget (scaled from what laughingly passes as a FedGov budget for your improved understanding)?:
"Why the U.S. was downgraded:Actually, this is now somewhat dated -- it's worse now. And that's using FedGov's own numbers which are completely fraudulent when held up to the accounting standards that private corporations -- except the banking oligarchs of course -- must meet.
• U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
• Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
• New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
• National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
• Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000
Let's now remove 8 zeros and pretend it's your household budget:
• Annual family income: $21,700
• Money the family spent: $38,200
• New debt on the credit card: $16,500
• Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
• Total budget cuts: $385"
Unfortunately, "peak horse sh*t" by the politicians and central planners seems to have continued unabated to this day...

He was a radical Chicago activist who, by the time he died in 1972, had had a profound influence on the highest levels of the Democratic party. Alinsky was a ‘transformational Marxist’ in the mould of Antonio Gramsci, who promoted the strategy of a ‘long march through the institutions’ by capturing the culture and turning it inside out as the most effective means of overturning western society. In similar vein, Alinsky condemned the New Left for alienating the general public by its demonstrations and outlandish appearance. The revolution had to be carried out through stealth and deception. Its proponents had to cultivate an image of centrism and pragmatism. A master of infiltration, Alinsky wooed Chicago mobsters and Wall Street financiers alike. And successive Democratic politicians fell under his spell.

Well, here's an interesting comment pair of the day (CPTOD) on a Power Line post on "Zero Dark Thirty":

I realize this has been said before, but it bears repeating. There are literally thousands of U.S. military troops who were waterboarded by their own government (I'm one of them). In my case, the waterboarding technique was one of those that was demonstrated in US Navy survival school called SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape). To be honest, I was also physically beaten, to the point that my undershirt and flight suit were a bloody mess (Bloody nose). Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining. Matter of fact, I consider that 5 day school to be one of the best that I ever experienced. I learned more about myself - my limitations and what I could endure - than any other thing I ever experienced. I was 18 years old at the time. Waterboarding is extremely unpleasant, to be sure - but I disagree with Senator McCain on this point -- it is NOT torture. If it is - as McCain asserts - then perhaps the VA should consider disability compensation for every one of us that went through that school. After all, weren't we "tortured" by our own government with a technique that we won't even use on our enemies?

The people who disagree most strongly with waterboarding (like Lawrence O'Donnell) don't care about waterboarding when it is done on our own people. In a forum on CNN one woman dismissed it because "they were volunteers". So "torture" becomes not torture when it is used on our own people.
Yeah, don't hold your breath...
And I'm guessing that Marsha's clays contest ain't gonna happen either. And she deserves the highest respect for this challenge since anyone with a brain knows she's actually risking her life even if he wasn't trying to hit her!
Unless she borrowed the "Iron Man" suit from the teleprompter...
