Introduction to the Perestroika Deception

You might remember my recent post highlighting a lecture by the Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov.

Then there's what Vladimir Bukovsky has to say in "The Power of Memory and Acknowledgement":

Because we didn’t win the Cold War, it isn’t over. We were given a chance to win in 1991. To do it we needed a Nuremburg trial, but not a trial of people. In a country like the Soviet Union, if you tried to find all the guilty, you would end up with 19 million people, and who needs another Gulag? This isn’t about punishing individuals. It’s about judging the system. I spent a lot of time trying to persuade the Yeltsin government to conduct such a trial. Yeltsin finally said, “No.” The reason he had to say no was the enormous pressure he felt from the West not to have such a trial. I’ve seen the cables he received from all over the world, mostly from Russian embassies, ex-plaining that local politicians and governments were vehemently against any trials or disclosure of crimes or opening of archives. Finally Yeltsin just gave in.

Because of documents I recovered, we now understand why the West was so against putting the communist system on trial. It is not only that the West was infiltrated by the Soviets much deeper than we ever thought, but also that there was ideological collaboration between left-wing parties in the West and the Soviet Union. This ideological collaboration ran very
deep.

For example—and this brings us back to the European Union—in the middle of the 1980s the European left parties talked to Gorbachev and explained to him that because it is difficult to organize socialism in one country, it should be done in all of Europe at once. Gorbachev agreed. They launched a project called “Common European Home,” which was, in essence, the precursor to the European Union.

RTWT. But what does he know as a Soviet dissident? Why he must be crazy since he was a Soviet "psychiatric patient" right?

Welcome to the "Perestroika Deception":

The Cold War is over and Communism is a non-issue for most Americans. Communism is such a non-issue that Communist plans to undermine American society have proceeded for years virtually undetected and unhindered. Recent events have aided this process, with President Obama's aggressive drive toward Socialism fitting neatly into decades of Communist strategy.[2]

That long and patient strategy of deception was developed in the halls of the KGB, and dutifully carried out by Communist subversives in the United States. Prominent KGB defector Anatoliy Golitsyn has called it the "perestroika deception."[3]

According to KGB documents published by Golitsyn, "perestroika" and "glasnost" were always intended from the beginning to serve as a media ploy to deceive the West into lowering its defenses to the point where Soviet goals could proceed unchallenged. Of Golitsyn's 194 predictions, 139 had been fulfilled as of 1993.[4]

It's easy to be a prole. It's much harder to open your eyes.

Financial crisis? We are indeed living in a crisis -- but it's much worse than you think.

Let's check on communists' progress toward their ultimate objective of enslaving the entire human race:

Drop Everything And Read This Before The Election

Katherine Kersten: Obama has been hiding his real agenda

It sounds far-fetched, but the president is the “Radical-in-Chief.”

In the heady days of 2008, Americans warmed quickly to the prospect of Barack Obama as our 44th president. Obama promised to be just what our fractured nation needed — a non-ideological, post-partisan consensus builder, guided by mainstream pragmatic thinking.

When the story broke about Obama’s relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright — his pastor for 20 years, a “black-power” radical and a fan of Fidel Castro — we raised our eyebrows. We did the same when we heard of Obama’s longtime connection to Bill Ayers, an unrepentant former Weather Underground terrorist. But Obama blew these relationships off as exaggerated or unimportant, and we trusted his assurances.

Now a new book by Stanley Kurtz — a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center and a Harvard PhD — reveals why we should have probed the disconnect when we had a chance. Americans increasingly sense we were sold a bill of goods, and Kurtz explains why in “Radical-in-Chief: Barack Obama and the Untold Story of American Socialism.” Our president isn’t what he claims to be, says Kurtz. Obama’s plummeting approval ratings, and the electoral tsunami about to hit Democrats, reflect voters’ sense of betrayal.

In fact, Kurtz goes further, and makes an electrifying charge: Obama has purposely disguised what he believes, and is actively seeking to mislead the American people about his agenda. Obama, says Kurtz, is a socialist. He believes — not in state ownership — but in a savvier version of socialism that seeks to transform and undermine American capitalism through ever-expanding government control; irreversible entitlements; and a metastasizing public sector.

I know this sounds far-fetched. Even Kurtz says he didn’t expect it when he began his research. But the more we learn about “community organizing” — which Obama has called the “best education” he ever had — the more we see that Wright and Ayers were clues to a below-the-radar radical network that has shaped both the president’s worldview and the deceptive tactics he uses to disguise it.

Americans were lulled into ignoring Obama’s background because they think of “community organizers” as well-intentioned do-gooders. In fact, the father of community organizing was Saul Alinsky, a far-left icon and the author of the 1971 book, “Rules for Radicals.” Alinsky taught that community organizing is about accumulating the raw power necessary for the radical transformation of America’s economic and social structure.

Alinsky knew that the American people are not ready for socialism. To advance radical goals, he said, activists must pose as pragmatists and work within the system. While New Left radicals were rioting at the 1968 Democratic convention, Alinskyite community organizers were working behind the scenes, infiltrating Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty and funneling money to their far-left organizations. In dealing with “enemies” Alinsky was ruthless. He advocated the “politics of personal destruction”: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

Obama began his career as a community organizer in Chicago in 1985. His teachers were Alinsky disciples, and he immersed himself in their ideas and methods. For years, Obama ran workshops on Alinsky’s methodology, worked with Alinskyite organizations, and served on radical boards.

Obama got his start in politics in 1996, when Illinois state Sen. Alice Palmer hand-picked him to succeed her. Kurtz describes Palmer as a “hard Marxist,” who had praised the Soviet Union in the communist People’s Daily World. Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn — another notorious Weather Underground alum — hosted an announcement party at their home. During his campaign, Obama promised to bring the spirit of community organizing to his new position.

In 2004, after Obama became a U.S. senator, Michelle Obama confirmed his Alinskyite intentions. “Barack is not a politician first and foremost,” she said. “He’s a community activist exploring the viability of politics to make change.”

Obama’s immersion in socialist organizing, and his mastery of the tactics of infiltration and disguise, explain both his agenda and modus operandi as president. He has relentlessly advanced the incremental strategy of his mentors — vastly expanding state control in the health care, energy, environmental and financial sectors. Cronies from his community organizing days have advised his campaign, crafted his grassroots strategy and lobbied for his programs, according to Kurtz. We see Alinsky’s ghost in Obama’s tactical ruthlessness, and his ferocious, unprecedented demonization of opponents.

Over the past two years, Americans have grown increasingly angry that Obama’s governance has differed so starkly from his campaign rhetoric. Kurtz reveals that Obama was intentionally deceiving us all along.

The Bet

I have a bet with my eighth grade son. If he wins he gets a small Lego set. If he loses he gets to read yet another book of my recommendation (how do you think he got to be so smart except for the occasional bad bet or two? ;)

The bet? That his history teacher will not allow him to distribute pocket Constitutions to the class. He thinks his teacher will allow it. Nothing against his teacher -- I've met him and he seems like a good guy. I told my son that he would have to have the teacher review the pocket Constitution before distributing them because I genuinely did not want to get him fired -- and my assessment is that he would be fired if he allowed them to be handed out.

Why?

Here's my first example of a long list. Watch for more in a continuing series.

Page 8 has a summary of the Ten Commandments and their importance to American jurisprudence and how there is a tablet signifying them directly above the Supreme Court Chief Justice's chair among other things. And the bottom section of page 8 has the contrasting summary of the plan from Marx' Communist Manifesto (which of course is more or less equivalent to the Democratic Party platform)!

Herewith the relevant section of the Manifesto presented for you to marvel at:

The Communist revolution is the most radical rupture with traditional property relations; no wonder that its development involved the most radical rupture with traditional ideas.

But let us have done with the bourgeois objections to Communism.

We have seen above, that the first step in the revolution by the working class is to raise the proletariat to the position of ruling class to win the battle of democracy.

The proletariat will use its political supremacy to wrest, by degree, all capital from the bourgeoisie, to centralise all instruments of production in the hands of the State, i.e., of the proletariat organised as the ruling class; and to increase the total productive forces as rapidly as possible.

Of course, in the beginning, this cannot be effected except by means of despotic inroads on the rights of property, and on the conditions of bourgeois production; by means of measures, therefore, which appear economically insufficient and untenable, but which, in the course of the movement, outstrip themselves, necessitate further inroads upon the old social order, and are unavoidable as a means of entirely revolutionising the mode of production.

These measures will, of course, be different in different countries.

Communist Manifesto (Chapter 2): "Nevertheless, in most advanced countries, the following will be pretty generally applicable.

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
5. Centralisation of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly."
6. Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8. Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, &c, &c.

Ten Commandments: Religion not allowed in school. Communist Manifesto: Too much chance someone might recognize the Democrat Party agenda.

And did I mention that on the cover of this particular edition is 2 Corinthians 3:17 : "Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."

So even the cover fails!

The Ghost O Bill Ayers

You know, it's d*mnably hard to beat Ray to the punch on anything big nowadays, but I think I just did (by Jack Cashill at American Thinker; lifted in whole):

In his new book, "Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage," Best-selling celebrity journalist, Christopher Andersen, has blown a huge hole in the Obama genius myth without intending to do so.

Relying on inside sources, quite possibly Michelle Obama herself, Andersen describes how Dreams came to be published -- just as I had envisioned it in my articles on the authorship of Dreams. With the deadline pressing, Michelle recommended that Barack seek advice from "his friend and Hyde Park neighbor Bill Ayers."

To flesh out his family history, Obama had taped interviews with various family members. Andersen writes, "These oral histories, along with a partial manuscript and a truckload of notes, were given to Ayers." Andersen quotes a Hyde Park neighbor, "Everyone knew they were friends and that they worked on various projects together. It was no secret. Why would it be? People liked them both."

Andersen continues, "In the end, Ayers's contribution to Barack's Dreams From My Father would be significant--so much so that the book's language, oddly specific references, literary devices, and themes would bear a jarring similarity to Ayers's own writing."
