(Isn't it nice to know the word "gets around"?
1) The initial letter from the constituent seems straight-forward and benign in tone. It sounds like many I have written.
2) The first line of Bacon's reply sets the tone for his remarks. The tone is not remedied by several pertinent remarks that follow regarding Colorado's budget crisis. I would be insulted if I received the letter.
3) The rather fiery 2nd letter from the constituent clearly didn't help their relationship.
4) I suspect the Senator had received "a lot" of similar mail and may have felt beleaguered by it. He may have felt intimidated, frustrated or defensive. Or, he may be a habitual elitist whose SOP is to subvert the opposition. Sarcasm, name-calling, assertiveness, self-righteousness, even profanity.
5) All told, he might have outlined what options were available to the Senate, how they prioritized the cuts and stratified the tax increases. Some are talking about cutting 12th grade entirely to help afford adequate law enforcement.
Comments welcomeDavid Adamsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2711693318556996796.post-44405453486621722172010-02-24T23:59:15.358-08:002010-02-24T23:59:15.358-08:00He did well, didn't he?

I will, of course. But you'll find ...Hi Gonz,

I will, of course. But you'll find very few who understand.

Decades of Huxleyan brainwashing can only be put in perspective by listening to those who knew from the inside like Bezmenov: http://wethefree.blogspot.com/2009/09/did-i-forget-to-mention-yuri-bezmenov.html

And now we have the "Mansourian Candidate": http://wethefree.blogspot.com/2009/11/did-i-forget-to-mention-mansourian.html

James Quinn sums it up here: http://financialsense.com/editorials/quinn/2009/1021.html

It ends like this:

==== My sole purpose one and a half years ago when I started writing about what I saw happening in this country was to convince enough people that the fiscal and foreign policies of our politician leaders would lead to disaster, so that we could change our path and I could leave my three sons a future brighter than my own. I have come to the conclusion that less than 1% of Americans or 3 million people really care about the path of destruction we are on. Approximately 1% of the population owns 90% of the wealth in the country. The actual number of people in control of the country is quite small. There are maybe a couple thousand people who control the reins of power (100 people in the White House, 535 Congressmen, 50 bankers, 20 people in the Federal Reserve, 9 Supreme Court justices, 100 people in power at governmental agencies, 50 media titans, 100 corporate CEOs, and maybe 200 rich influential people such as Gates, Soros and Buffett).

The majority of Americans are oblivious to the Crisis that has already begun. They are distracted by their latest text message, shopping at the mall, worried about the next credit card bill, engrossed by the adventures of balloon boy, and trusting that their elected officials know what is best for them. What will blind side them is the depth and ferocity of the next stage in the Crisis. They will need to choose sides when the time comes. I will choose the side of truth, freedom, liberty, and adherence to the U.S. Constitution as it was written. This old man will join his three sons at the barricades when the time comes. The fools and fanatics who run this country are certain. I am not certain of the final outcome, but I know which side I’ll choose. Do you? ====

Sound familiar?

Hang in there Gonz.Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01303418704124645351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2711693318556996796.post-89467318264957178902009-10-29T01:44:32.957-07:002009-10-29T01:44:32.957-07:00Wow.
