Socialist dimbulbs continue to run around saying the capitalists didn't see the crash coming and that's proof capitalism is dead.
Truth is, there are very few capitalists left in our now fascist/socialist/mercantilist system. See "Hamilton's Curse" for the start of our current end.
The truth is that capitalism has been dead for a long time and that's exactly the problem. Here, Peter Schiff entertainingly explains our serial bubble mania to the Mortgage Banker's Association before the crash took on full force. And for extra laughs, towards the end he is debated by someone who now looks like an enormous buffoon.
It's over an hour but surprisingly entertaining and enormously educational. If you're behind the curve on your economic education, this is as good as any place to start. And even if you think you understand free market capitalism you'll find it worth your time just for the satisfaction of what an excellent job Peter does.
Oh -- and no teleprompters! Enjoy!

I'd not seen this before. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
ReplyDeleteI thought the fat-American consumption analogy was pretty brilliant.
